What Is Counselling And Psychotherapy?
Counselling & Psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. These are delivered by trained & qualified practitioners. Providing individuals with support to understand, accept and overcome a range of emotional concerns or issues that cause distress.
The Therapeutic relationship is a professional working relationship. You will see your counsellor/therapist for a number of agreed sessions.
I work with people over 18 years old, over a short or long term to help bring about effective change and/or enhance wellbeing.

How Can Counselling/Therapy Help?
I will offer you a safe, non judgmental space. As well as, being respectful of you, your thoughts and opinions. I will listen to you. The sessions are for you and we will work at your pace. It is an opportunity to look at your concerns in a different way whilst being heard and acknowledged.
How Will I Know If Counselling/Therapy Is For Me?
It may involve talking about life events, feelings, relationships, patterns of behaviour, coping strategies. It may be that you want to learn more about yourself, overcome an enduring issue that is impacting you negatively. Or maybe you want to change something that isn’t working for you. There are many reasons to access therapy and it is likely that you are here because it is causing you personal pain. To help ease any worries you may have, I offer a free 15 minute zoom or phone session to see how comfortable you feel talking to me.
What Is Creative Counselling?
Creative counselling is any form of creativity to aid within the therapeutic process, from doodling to using stones to using mood cards. It can provide a freedom from eye contact and alleviate any pressure you may feel to find exactly the right words. It can provide a platform to help with identifying and expressing difficult and painful emotions. There are many ways to work creatively online.
What Is Nature Therapy?
It is an umbrella term, sometimes known as Eco-therapy. It is a range of formal therapeutic activities in the outdoors, such as moving and talking. It can provide an opportunity to explore your concerns out of the confines of a room. It can provide freedom from eye contact as we walk together and allows for more movement. It utilises the healing power of the natural world incorporating pathways, woodland areas, grass areas, a lake and public footpaths through fields.
What Can I Expect At My First Appointment?
This is mainly spent getting to know you and for me to begin to understand what it is you are looking to achieve from our sessions.
I will also explain how I can work with you and will encourage you to ask any questions you may have. This is an opportunity for both of us to see if we would be a good fit to work together and clarify what I can and can’t offer.
Do You Offer A Free Initial Consultation?
Yes, I do. To allay any worries you may have, I offer a free 15-minute phone or zoom session to briefly discuss if we would be a good fit to work together and to see how comfortable you feel talking to me. What Are Your Fees?
Sessions are £50 each, Blast sessions £60 each.
I do have some £30-£35 50 minute sessions available for those on low incomes and welcome any enquiries around this.
I review my fees annually.
Please note that any appointment missed or cancelled within 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
- I am a fully qualified BACP registered therapist, fully insured to work face to face, online, telephone and outdoors. Including, Online and Telephone certified counsellor training. I have undertaken further extensive training through Hayley Marshall as an Outdoor Therapist. As well as, being registered with the ICO and comply with GDPR and privacy.
