Thanks for stopping by here. Perhaps you feel stuck or unsure of what you want but have a feeling that something isn’t right? Perhaps you’re feeling anxious? Maybe you’re questioning a relationship? Or feel you’re having trouble making a big decision? Has someone important to you died and you’re struggling with the emotions around that?

I’m Alison and I am a Person-Centered trained psychotherapeutic counsellor. So what does that mean? Well, it means I believe we all have a deep innate ability to find our own answers and the therapeutic relationship offers the opportunity to work together in a safe, accepting and non judgmental way to help you understand yourself better. As well as, increase your awareness of yourself, your world around you and why you feel the way you do. I want to hold that space for you, that perhaps you cannot hold yet for yourself.

I will not give you advice and I will not tell you what to do. I will ask questions as I accompany you on your path to understand your world and how you fit in it. It is important to acknowledge that I work with you to explore this at your pace.

As a qualified Blast technique practitioner, i can also work with you to resolve and heal trauma using bilateral stimulation.  Neuroscience research shows that structures in the right side/hemisphere of the brain are overactive and acting as if there is an immediate threat in sufferers of PTSD and trauma. The BLAST Technique® utilises precise bi-lateral movements with a light pen (which helps the memory access the left side/hemisphere of the brain) and specific suggestions to you, which helps reprocess the traumatic event so you will understand what happened and can remember, but it will no longer have any physical or emotional response.

I work predominantly outdoors, incorporating the healing power of Nature . As well as, the environment around us into the therapeutic relationship. You can see a video of me here to “meet” me. I also work indoors in my office near Hinckley. As well as, online so you have the flexibility and freedom to choose between these options what works best for you.
