Thanks for stopping by here. Perhaps you feel stuck or unsure of what you want but have a feeling that something isn’t right? Are you feeling anxious? Maybe you’re questioning a relationship? Or feel you’re having trouble making a big decision? Has someone important to you died and you’re struggling with the emotions around that?

I’m Alison and I am a Person-Centered trained psychotherapeutic counsellor. So what does that mean? Well, it means I hold recognised professional qualifications such as gaining a first class degree in Therapeutic Counselling (BSc Hons), and i believe we all have an  innate ability to find our own answers.

The therapeutic relationship offers the opportunity to build trust as we work together in a safe, accepting and non judgmental way to help you understand yourself better. As well as, increase your awareness of yourself, your world around you and why you feel the way you do. I want to hold that space for you, that perhaps you cannot hold yet for yourself.

I will not give you advice and I will not tell you what to do. I will ask questions as I accompany you to understand your world and how you fit in it. It is important to acknowledge that I work with you to explore this at your pace.

Blast Technique

As a qualified Blast technique practitioner, i can also work with you to resolve and heal trauma using bilateral stimulation.  Neuroscience research shows that structures in the right side/hemisphere of the brain are overactive and acting as if there is an immediate threat in sufferers of PTSD and trauma. The BLAST Technique® utilises precise bi-lateral movements with a light pen (which helps the memory access the left side/hemisphere of the brain) and specific suggestions to you, which helps reprocess the traumatic event so you will understand what happened and can remember, but it will no longer have any physical or emotional response.

I work predominantly outdoors, incorporating the healing power of Nature . As well as, the environment around us into the therapeutic relationship. You can see a video of me here to “meet” me. I also work indoors in my office near Hinckley. As well as, online so you have the flexibility and freedom to choose between these options what works best for you.

Reviews directly received from clients.

I sought BLAST Therapy from Alison due to a trauma response. Alison was very patient with me and put me at ease during the treatment. I found it really successful in helping me process the trauma I had suffered. The repeated flash backs I was experiencing stopped within a week of completing to the BLAST Therapy.” (Client M).

“After continuing to experience significant anxiety following two courses of CBT, I reached out to Alison to try a different approach. Over several months, we explored the underlying causes of my difficulties rather than focusing solely on managing the symptoms, and the impact has been genuinely life-changing.

I now feel far better equipped to understand and manage my mental health, and as a result my anxiety has significantly reduced without the need for medication.

Alison is very easy to talk to and quickly understood how I communicate and what I needed from the process. She encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone in a constructive way that helped me achieve the outcomes I was looking for. Therapy is challenging, but I would strongly encourage anyone who is struggling to consider it.” (Client C).
